Howdy,
I have always asked for "chants" for a safe arrival when there is a guitar in shipment. The following blurb is meant to save others the horror that has decended Casa K'sho:
I found a killer guitar, paid what was asked, no dickering at all. I was told it was in a gigbag (which was kinda wierd due to that caliber of guitar) and I did ask about a case but was shot down by the dealer. I received the guitar . . . TRASHED ....... the tone knob mashed through the body. This friggin dealer put a classic guitar in this gigbag, and used a shitty single ply box to ship it ........ AND used the friggin U S Mail to get it here. When I retained enough composure I called the shop in Cal., the owner was out but the employee was very helpful in getting the data to file the claim on this end. Then several emails pop up from the owner wanting to change direction to have the guitar and the claim process to be started in Cal.
Look guys ...... I made the error, the guitar should have been in a case, I should not have let the dealer talk me out of it, PERIOD. The dealer ........ I am accustomed to the excellent service provided by Infinity, BCR, and Rockin Robin and I let my guard down. REMEMBER GUYS, YOU ARE IN CHARGE OF THESE GUITAR BUYS, NOT THE PIMP ON THE OTHER END.
The guitar, serial #001 in a series from a builder I met at the Arlinton show. He is also livid and has offered the world to make it right even though he is not directly envolved.
AND.......... When you ship, go the extra mile on your end . . loose strings, pad the inside of the case, and double box if possible.
