Anyone run into simple way to keep the cord plug and pup switch nuts from getting loose? They always seem to be loosening up on me, and at bad times. Particularly the pup ring: I finger tighten it, but it always works loose. Are there lock nuts this thin? Or some goopy magic glop that might work? Randy

I have never tried this but I would assume that blue lock-tite would work. I use it for my RC airplanes and it has been a life saver. It will hold things like screws and nuts in place but you can still get them loose if you need access to that particular area.

I am sure you can probably get lock-tite at Home Depot or any hobby shop.

Remember, this is just a suggestion I have never tried it on one of my guitars!!!

Lock-tite or super glue.

There's several types of lock-tite now so make sure you buy the one used primarily for nuts & bolts. Any Auto parts store would have it also.

A lot of guys use super glue on bridge parts once guitars are in good intonation. It helps stop rattles too...

As long as it's clear Lock-tite I'd say that would be the best thing for loose nuts. I always squeeze some on mine ... just for fun

Go with the Blue Loc-Tite stuff. It's what I use on my firearms for assorted applications such as Muzzle Brakes, Flash Hiders, Scope Mounts, or just general screws that may come loose due to the inherent harmonic vibration of a round exiting the breech through the muzzle. " Especially " roll pins " If it works on a gun, rest assured it'll work on your guitar. As always, read the instructions on the tube. Hint : buy a box of round toothpicks to make it easier for you to apply this stuff sparingly- and you're good to go. Hope this helps - JC

Get some ugly nail polish that your wife doesn't use anymore.

It's free and it works wonders. You can also see where you put it.

Good idea, Greg. I can see her face when I ask her for some of her "ugly nail polish". It would probably free up some of our quality time for me to hang in the studio and play my Robins.

Did I mention that you'd probably have to drive to the hardware store for Blue Loc-tite ? Probably easier than your wife findin' you going through her "pretty bag ". A word of wisdom : find a chick that looks good without all of that crap. You KNOW she's not putting Loc-Tite on her nails, unless she's up to no good. Sleep with one EYE open -

Wow, Thanks! Never did I think I would get so much excellent advice on handling my nutz, especially from a bunch of dudes. I do like the lock-Tite idea: it seems much more, um --undoable-- than nail polish. I'm gonna see if I can find some. Switzerland is not the US. We get plenty O' cheese, but often the most basic things like peanut butter, are pretty tough to find.

Not sure 'bout Switzerland but RC airplanes are very big in that part of the world. There should be a hobby store around somewhere that you can buy lock-tite at.

maybe you can order some from this place if they are not close by?

and keep in mind, you probably don't have to cover the threads in either one. Start with just a tiny drop.
