Hi all,
David Wintz and I have been friends since our ages had just reached double digits. I remember the place he had when he and Bart first started trading guitars. When I lived overseas from the very early 80’s to the mid-90’s, Dave was one of my few friends from back home that came to visit, several times in fact. I am proud to count him as one of my friends. Also, he has accomplished as much as anyone I have ever known.
Back in 1989 I purchased this Machete from him, Serial Number 891231, with one piece of mahogany for the neck and body. It is definitely my favorite electric guitar and not just because my friend made it. Both the action and sound are top quality. This guitar is not for sale. This posting is strictly for Robin lovers, and for Dave.
Many years ago, I complimented Dave on the quality of his work. He modestly replied: “We’re as good as any and better than most.” I told him: “No, Dave. You are the very best, and a few others are almost as good.” I still think that today. I have started playing guitar again after a long hiatus, and am going to purchase 3 guitars in the near future. A Kevin Ryan Nightingale, a Koto, and a Robin Savoy (Dave is learning of my future purchase with this posting <smile>). Anyone who has ever played a Robin guitar knows why I will be buying a Robin Savoy.
Regards to all,
Robert R. Kerr, Ph.D.

P.S. I had to significantly reduce the pixels on the pics. Oh well ...
