I posted a WTB over in the For Sale section with some specific specs, mainly a rosewood fretboard. However, in my impatience (a very common trait for me), I went ahead and bought Dave W's Ranger, even though it had a maple fretboard. 1 day later, I get an email from a member who knows of a blue Ranger for sale with a rosewood fretboard. Without even waiting for the first Ranger to arrive, I go ahead and buy the blue one thinking that I'll like it better and turn around and resell Dave's (in fact, I have a buyer ready).

Well, Dave's Ranger arrives. Guess what. I immediately bond with it. I love everything about it, the look, the feel, the tone. It's insane how well it plays and sounds. The flame on the neck is intense. It has a sunburst matte-like finish on it which, for some reason, I find very cool. It weighs, like, 6 1/2 pounds. It's so light it almost doesn't feel real. But the tone sure is real, exactly what I expected and was looking for. Great bite from the tele bridge pickup and creamy tones from the neck. All I can say is, WOW!

Then the blue one arrives, and it is every bit the guitar that the sunburst is. Great tone, great playability. It's equal in every way. But, much like a first love, there is some intangible bonding that went on with the sunburst that I can't overlook.

So in this case, my impatience paid off in one way, I found a great guitar that I probably wouldn't have purchased if one with a rosewood board came up sooner. However, I now have 2 Rangers, and it looks like the blue one is going to need to go, as great as it is. I'm going to post it here first for a few days before I go to the other sites and ebay. Look for it in the For Sale section.

The pics below were all taken by the previous owners, I haven't gotten around to taking my own yet, although I certainly will.
