Hi I am new here and do not know much about Robin Avalon guitars. I am assuming they are a high quality hand built instrument but am wondering how they compare with a Les Paul sonically or otherwise. Any help would be appreciated. Thnaks!

better tone, better woods, lighter, better construction, less expensive used. go for it!

I've got one of each, but I wind up playing the Avalon about 5x as often...

I was shopping for a humbucker guitar after I sold my Bluesbird. After playing many Les Pauls (new and old) and various other guitars, I kept coming back to a used Robin Avalon. Needless to say I bought it for well below the cost of a Les Paul Studio that wouldn't come close to comparing to the Avalon in every aspect.
The guitar unplugged will make your ribcage vibrate, and plugging it in you'll find a sound of its own.
Hand made instead of mass made gets my vote every time regardless of price. I would have payed twice as much as I did for the Avalon I have.
