Just bought an 85 ranger on ebay... made by ESP in Japan. Previous owner had replaced the original pickups (not rio grandes) with Dimarzio Virtual vintage pickups..
As someone who has owned a vintage les paul custom, an old american schecter, a vintage gibson flying v and another quality ESP, I just want to say that this guitar is AMAZING. ESP used to make guitars for numerous companies and especially back then, the quality was really, really high. Ronnie wood plays an ESP tele, what more do you need to know? I can't speak personally for the Tokais (21 fret models) but the ESPs (22 fret Rangers) are just wonderful, wonderful guitars!
