Hi Guys. I posted before on here about my Tim Kelly Robin guitar. Today when I unbolted the neck from the body (as I'm sending the body off for painting) I discovered something SUPER COOL about this guitar that I didn't previously know about.

Under the finish written in pencil if "NAMM DEMO!!!" 6-8-90

This makes this guitar even cooler since it was used at the trade show. Being one in Tim;s collection trumps all but an interesting tidbit about this axe I didn't previously know. Anyone have any insights about the NAMM demo stuff?

The original finish was (in my best guess) Robinite pinkish color or just a plain pink. I could be wrong. In mid 1990's Tim Kelly's guitar tech had sanded it down and given it a lacquer finish or clearcoat type finish. Just wood with sealer on it basically. It looks ok but I think this needs some color on it. I'm aving it paint a orange firemist metallic color.

In the crevices you can still see some of the pink color left from the original paint. It bought it 18 months ago with the history of what it had gone thru up to the point of me buying it.

At some point in the mid 90's Tim gave it to his tech's girlfriend who had it ever since. I bought it form her with the original case with the Slaughter stencil all over it.

Really excited me to see it was a NAMM guitar because it was hung with pride for what the company stood for in the craftsmanship. Really makes this interesting guitar a little more interesting.

Oh yeah, I remember the guitar now.
Sounds like you're doing the right thing.
Be sure and post photos along the way!
