Anyone have any info on this flame job?
Suppose to be Houston made but it does not have the brand on back of headstock. SN puts it about 2003?

It was a standard color on the Avalon Flattop at one point...

All set neck Robins were USA made.

Not quite accurate.

Set neck Wedges were made in Japan.
The original series Artisans from 1985 were all set neck and made in Japan.

All Avalons are set neck and were made in Houston.

I must say it feels REALLY weird to say "were made" instead of "are made"!

Picked up the black Avalon with flames for pretty cheap. Good news is it came with a Robin case.............bad news - someone decided to put SD humbuckers in it...looks like they use a boy scout hatchet to enlarge the cavities. Why? Why? Why? do people do this?????

I'll post some pics later. Maybe someone can give me some advise on how to clean up the pickup cavities.

They do it because they are poopid ..... full of sh*t and stupid. This is common north of I-20 ................ onward !!!
