Need help with wiring single pu freedom bass

hey all, I have a friends freedom bass with a single (humbucking?)pu. the bass has a ton of buzz when hooked up. I took off the control cover, which has 3 knobs, and there are 2 red wires disconnected. One is directly from the 9 volt battery in the back, the other is from the pickup itself and is capped with electrical tape. I can't find any place where the red wire from the 9 volt goes. Does anyone know where the red wire goes or can someone take a picture of their wiring and send me an email with it? Thanks alot for all of your help
