I just picked up what I believe is a 1995 Savoy Classic - it came with a great Robin case and I cannot find a scratch, nick or blemish on it anywhere. I thought I knew a little about Robin guitars, but I have been totally blown away by how well it plays, how well it is built and how great it aounds. I am playing it through a 70' Fender Dual Showman and sometimes through a Mesa Boogie, combo dual rectifier. Through either it is sweet.

So what I am finding out is that I really don't know jack about Robin's, but I am learning and loving every minute of it.

Anyway, thought I would put up a couple of pics and reinforce what you all know already know and try to learn a little more.http://robinlovers.com/discus/messages/6/6685.jpghttp://robinlovers.com/discus/messages/6/6686.jpg

Hi,
Man I love my Robin's through my Mesa DC3.
I tend to run the Boogie a little hard
& back down on the volume & tone a bit ...
Man the sound satisfies me every single time.

In every situation from Jazzy Gospel tones
to ZZ Top / Gary Moore what I call "Whiskey & Tobacco" sounds
the Genuine Texas & BBQ humbuckers are great.
Very warm, fat, & crunchy.

Beautiful guitar Bob.

Nice! That antique violinburst looks just like my Avalon, but wif holes! I got one of those new Spider valves, and I'm pretty satisfied. After massive fiddling, I found I like it best when I turn off all the effects, set it to blues blue, and control all the tone with my volume. Super sweet!

Thanks for making me feel welcome and for the compliments on the guitar. The compliments go to Robin guitars. I just got very lucky.

Now I feel the obsession to find another one, but I'm sure none of you have faced that before.

Happy Trails,

Bob
