Well, I've been hanging out here for awhile so I thought it was high time I registered and actually posted something once in awhile. And what better way to start but to post pics of my Robins ...

Don't ya love the Avalon w/ Bigsby?

Chollie may be on to something. Maybe the reason I don't own a black guitar is that I could never find it...

Anyone know where I could find tortoise single coils, like those seen on Kevin's Wrangler?

Burnsy

Rio Grande makes them. I don't think I have seen them elsewhere.

Smitty - couldn't agree more on the need for a green Savoy http://robinlovers.com/discus/clipart/wink.gif And no problem on the TGP post, least I could do. Good luck on the auction, I know I'm watching ...

Kane - Burnsy's correct, they're Rio Grandes. You can try straight from Rio Grande (see Smitty's link) or maybe try Musictoyz (http://www.musictoyz.com/guitar/pickups/rio.php) or Guitar Heaven (http://www.gtrheaven.com/pickups/rio_grande_pickups.htm).

I called Rio Grande on the phone about those a few months ago, and they stated that the tortoise pickups were no longer being produced, due to supplier problems. Anyone know anything about this?

Thanks!

Hey Kevin...some amazing things goin' on with that auction. IMUS MENTIONED IT TWICE ON HIS TV SHOW TODAY and I got an email from a guy who used to listen to Ernie play jazz in Moline IL ...in 1965!!!

Kane-

Covered pickups such as the Genuine Texas, BBQ Bucker, the Bluesbar, and Jazzbar are no longer available in brown tortoise but just about any single coil pickup for strats and teles is available in brown tortoise and all of the fancy colors shown here: http://www.riograndepickups.com/fancy.html

If you want a brown tortoise Muy Grande Tele Bridge pickup and a brown tortoise Halfbreed (RWRP) for your Ranger just give your favorite Rio Grande Pickups dealer a call.

Cheers,
Allen

Hi,
that is a stunning Harem of guitars. However , Hank,Boomhaur,Bill and Dale from "King of the Hill" all want to know what kind of amps are underneath those covers ?? Yep , Yep, Mmm-hmn

Nope. Not Borat. If it is he ripped it off from John Cleese (French Waiter) in Monty Python's the Meaning of Life. If you've seen it think Mr.Creasouex(sp? Who cares it's french..:-p)

Thanks Jack ... harem seems like an apt description. Please let Hank, Boomhaur, Bill and Dale (but not Bobby, he don't care about amps and guitars) know both amps are Naylors (an EV38 and a Duel 38).

Howdy Smitty!
Not trying to hide, just doing some gigs. Did the Beaumont Blues Festival a while back, and I've been trying to keep busy since then playing in Houston and Port Arthur area as well as teaching. I also just finished recording a Demo, and now I'm just back to the learning of as many Pete Anderson and Bill Kirtchen (Thanks for the tip Allen!) licks as I can. :-)
