Just found out from the owner of Robins guitar today that this is the earliest Ranger model ever made! Making it extremely rare!!!

Does anyone know if these were routed under the guard from the factory?[ for a neck pickup]

No, they were not routed for a neck pickup.
A lot of the ones I have seen have been modified - the guard cut and body routed.
