Finish idea..

After attempting ,, with success, I duplicated the Gibby Voodoo finish on an ash bodied strat... The lack of finish gave this one a very "woody" tone...
Next I thought I'd try a yellow base with red grain,,, but not sure if an opaque stain would best fit or go with a solid yellow base... any thoughts?

leave it satin or clear coat poly?

satin.... I'm just not sure if a see-thru yellow finish will so the trick...
Might try to pick up some pcs. of ash on ebay and experiment...

The black on the voodoo is dark enough stain to do the trick, but yellow??
