Circa 1982 in Springfield, Missouri I owned some off brand single hum guitar and doing my best Van Halen imitation. As luck would have it, someone stole it (like that's lucky?). In search of a new axe, I wandered into Third Eye Music, owned and operated by Tom Whittrock (yes, Bart's brother). He had just received the first run of Robin's and I picked up a black RH-2. I have played it ever since and is still my primary guitar.

The guitar is far from stock now - Neck is a full progressive scallop (very shallow at the nut and gets deeper up the neck), Tremolo w/nut routing and 22nd fret added by Bill Conklin (Conklin guitars, Springfield, MO - Check out his wild stuff online at http://www.conklinguitars.com/index.html). Bill is an incredible luthier. Anyways.....Floyd Rose Original Trem added, Seymour Duncan Jazz (neck) and JB Trembucker pickups surrounded by chrome metal rings. All electronics changed several times but currently has a 3-way switch, one volume and two tones with a series-split-parallel switch for each pickup. Going to two volumes and two tones (with the switches). The tones will be a stacked concentric pot so it will stay with three holes (that's why there is some stupid black knob instead of chrome on the last pot in the photos). The finish is a white splatter marble over the original black nitro lacquer. The BOSS sticker has been on there since they came out with the GT-3 (95 ?). Neck pocket was cleaned of paint and angled so there are no shims. Since I like the option of the split sound, which adds a lot of hum, the guitar is now completely shielded using the Guitar Nuts "Quieting the beast" method - see pics. This shows the shielding in the pickup cavities and control cavity with the pickup shield and bridge connections to shield ground. I still have all the original parts, including the Tokai pickups (the stickers stayed on these).

It's really hard to shoot pictures of my guitar because of the finish and all the chrome. It looks very hot in person though and sounds like a bat out of ......
