Those of you that were at this past Robin Reunion should recognize this guitar, and may recall the drool running down my chin while I was playing it.
What we have here is one of Robin Guitars' factory test mules. This particular one was put together with a 1994 Revival body and a 2004 Ranger neck (sure looks like Presentation Grade, too!) to facilitate the development and demonstration of Rio Grande's then new Dirty Harry pickups.
Not only is it gorgeous, weighs in at "just right" heft, feels like it was made for my left hand, and plays like butter, but it sounds like one really angry Strat.
In fact, the Dirty Harrys wired with the 5-way pickup selector yield the following pickup combinations:
Position 1: BALLS!
Position 2: BALLS!
Position 3: BALLS!
Position 4: BALLS!
Position 5: BALLS!
This guitar has balls the size of church bells. Even they don't ring quite as loud, however.
Thanks again to Mr. Wintz for another winner!
