If it weren't for this guy Danny McKenna I would have never gotten into guitars the way I have. Danny passed away Wednesday the 26th and I just wanted to post something here. I am sure that nobody here knew him but some may recall the hit song he wrote and performed with his band Toby Beau back in the late 70's.

He taught me about good guitars and what to look for in guitars which lead me to find Robin, so I thought it was fitting to post a small tribute to him. Not only was he a good guitarist he was good luthier...he loved my Robin Goldtop, he was very intrigued and impressed with the build quality and design.

Danny R.I.P. brother. We will miss you.

I listened to the song through that link. I remember it well after listening to it. I think that was pretty big and that vocalist has a great voice. Sorry about the loss of your friend.

MAN!!!

I always dug that guitarist. The song's cool, great harmonies. Sorry to hear that he's gone.

Very well crafted song ...
I still hear it on the radio now & then.

Isn't it amazing when you rub elbows
with someone with that kind of
depth & musical knowledge?

Little things they say & do
(while they may not hit you hard initially)
stay with you for the rest of your life.

I'm sure you'll never forget
the things he contributed to
your life & your music
& in that way he still lives on.

You pretty much hit it right on the head...there was no one thing he did, showed or told me it was more of an accumulation of things. Things I will remember forever.
