That's totally cool...on the next one, they ought to slant the bridge pickups like on the Texas Rawhide.

This may sound dumb and Greg may smack me for it, but does having the slanted bridge pickup actually change how the guitar sounds?

You're right, Chollie. Greg IS gonna smack you for that. I got next when he's done.
Yes, it changes the sound, a la the Stratocaster, where the bridge pickup is slanted on the treble side toward the bridge. Just as the pickups closer to the bridge yield more treble, a slanted bridge pickup will yield more treble on the plain strings.
Make sense?

I won't smack you, Chollie. C'mere, lemme give you a hug....

I lied.

Kiz you may be on to something, Texas Ranger would be a good name for a H-S-H configuration Ranger SS.

I understand that Leo Fender slanted the bridge pickup on Teles and Strats to warm up the bass strings a bit--all I know is, my Texas Wrangler/Rawhide sounds great with the slant!
How much is that Texas Ranger going for, anyway?

well and play the crap out of it also....
The natural binding just tops it all off...simply beautiful...

Time to chime in...I have had the guitar a couple of weeks now. It is incredible, the bridge humbucker really makes ALL the difference in the world.
I have to say ordering this guitar has been a real experience for me...I got to pick out the wood for the guitar and got it configured the way I wanted it...I do not think I will be able to buy another "off the shelf cookie cutter" guitar again!
Dave and Greg ROCK!!!
